A 3-month old in a 2 1/2-month old's body

Heads-up!

Mason can now keep his head and part of his chest up when placed on his stomach. Not to brag, but I believe he learned this skill a full week or two before expected (according to the so-called experts with their books).

Oops

Of course, nothing lasts forever and he is quickly back to staring at the ceiling.

Video evidence

Here we have video evidence of Mason sneezing, smiling, and putting his fist in his mouth. Also, you may notice that he appears a bit "husky". This is no illusion as Mason is in the 90th percentile of weight-for-length for boys his age. Jeni is keeping him well fed.

The fist has been tamed

Mason has achieved strategic mastery of his fist. When he is tired, it can be used to rub his eyes. When he is hungry or bored, it can be used to calm him. We can only imagine what future uses he will come up with (no fighting though!).

Fists taste good

Happy First Birthday Joey!

3 out of 4 ain't bad

July 11 was Mason's counsin Joey's first birthday. We all went to his party on the ninth and helped him celebrate for a while.

Who can pick out the family resemblances between the two cousins...?

Mason finally met his Great-grandma and Great-grandpa Myers. Everyone got along just great. They brought Mason a moose book and stuffed moose from their recent trip to Alaska.

4th on the 1st

We spent the 1st of July in Milwaukee celebrating the 4th a bit early. Our friends Mick and Beth held a party at their new house and Mason got to meet some of our other old friends as well. That means he got to hear us tell stories about our college days for the very first time. It won't be the last, I'm sure.
