Christmas day at Bubba and Bapa's house

(Mason has decided to call Jeni's mother Bubba and her father Bapa.)

Of course, Christmas day meant more presents from more family.

Later we all went to another party at another great aunt and uncle's house. It was pretty funny.

What's so funny

Mason rocked out a little bit.

But then all of the excitement caught up with him. He passed out on Jeni's cousins (Gillian and Christian).

Mason eventually recovered. One of his favorite gifts is a folding brush that doubles as a "phone" that mostly just connects to Bubba.

Can you hear me now

Mason also enjoyed his visit with his Great Grandparents. Grandpa Russ got Mason a singing Winnie the Pooh which Mason thoroughly enjoys.

By the end of the week, Jeni and Hogarth needed a nap.

Christmas with Nana and Papa

Our first destination was Mason's Nana and Papa's house. He played with his cousins a lot. Here they are after a pajama dance party. Joe is in a bit of a stubborn phase as you can see.

On Christmas Eve, we opened presents and Mason "cheesed" it up with his Nana and Papa.

Corey stopped opening presents long enough to take a picture.

Here's a family picture in which I appear slightly deranged.

The family

Mason continued one of the longer days of his life at a party at his great aunt and uncle's house.

He had plenty of cousins and second cousins to play with, so the adults actually could talk with each other. Here is Jeni with Hank and Jeff.

Later, Mason's great uncle Doug read "Twas the Night Before Christmas" to all the kids (and Jeni).

Cousins, second cousins, a great uncle...

The next morning, Mason did not sleep in as much as we would have liked. He had two last presents to open, including his first bike (well, tricycle)!

Pre-Christmas

Happy New Year! I guess I have some catching up to do.

Here are some pre-Christmas pictures.

Mason helped Jeni make the dough for pizza for dinner the night of my last day of work in 2007.

Stirrin' the dough

The next morning, before heading up to Chicago for a week, Mason finished hanging ornaments on the Advent tree that his Nana gave him.

Advent tree: complete!

Then he opened up his gifts from Jeni and I. First, a farm complete with animals, farmers, a tractor, and a barn. He really likes it and will play with it completely on his own for 5 minutes at a time (heaven!).

His other present was a basketball hoop. It's not quite as huge of a hit as the farm, but he does enjoy it. Nice follow through!

The next Jordan?
