Good weather, finally

We've finally had weather that is semi-springlike. Mason has been outside playing both yesterday and today. Before going out, he likes to relax on the couch.

Relaxing on the couch
(Jeni swears she did not pose Mason. We have no idea where he picked this up.)

Mason has really been enjoying kicking his soccer ball around. He also likes to have Jeni or I throw the ball up in the air. He'll say either "kick ball" or "ball up."

Playing ball in the yard

Sometimes the ball goes in the street. Mason knows this is an "uh-oh" and will usually wait in the yard for Jeni or me.

Uh-oh. Ball street.

This evening, I was apparently wasting precious daylight taking photos. When I took this picture, he was saying "No cheese, ball up!"

No cheese! Ball! Up!!!

Visiting Morton

Jeni and Mason visited her grandparents in Morton, IL which is 80 miles from Urbana.

Jeni hadn't been for a long time and they really enjoyed their stay.

Mason is a good snuggler and sat on GGMa's lap for a bit.

Later he and GGPa spent some time together outside.

Getting some advice from GGPa

GGPa showed Mason some of the family heirlooms.

They posed for a portrait.

Happy Birthday Jeni!

Jeni's Birthday was February 27th and she celebrated by eating lots of baked goods.

She also had her playgroup over for a little party.

Mason's Guide to Getting Along with Girls

Mason has advice for all those guys out there trying to meet a girl, or maybe trying to get to know a special girl a little bit better.

He suggests watching a movie and sharing some popcorn, like he's doing with Natalie.

Then, when she's comfortable, you can make your move.

Some girls, like Audrey, will want to do something a little more active such as going for a car ride.

If the mood is right, you can try to hold hands.

Finally, if you have a visitor, like Gillian, and she's leaving, you may be able to get a kiss.

Even if you follow this advice, sometimes you will find yourself in situations where you just don't know what to do. Sometimes jumping up and down and yelling works.
