Early Halloween

The plan was to go to the Henry Vilas Zoo to take part in their costume parade and trick-or-treating. Unfortunately, Saturday was cold and rainy in Madison.

When my sister came up with Mason's cousins, we went to plan B, "Sweet Street" at the Coliseum. The floor of the Coliseum was filled with activities (like inflatable things for the kids to jump on) and the concourse was filled with booths where the kids could trick-or-treat.

Apparently everyone else in Madison with children also decided to go. It was crowded with very little organization. We had our costumes on though, and CJ was very patient while we waited for him to go through the inflatable obstacle course and ride on the inflatable slide. We never did trick-or-treat.

Unfortunately, we didn't get any pictures of the three boys in their costumes, but we did get them in their pajamas that night.

Mason has figured out that he can suck on his toes. It makes it difficult to change his diaper.

While I was out...

I went down to Chicago for a conference last week. When I returned home Saturday, Jeni and Mason were visiting Monica in Milwaukee, but there were fresh baked cookies on the table for me.

Time on the mat

Mason spends a lot of time on various mats, learning to roll over and just hanging out with toys. He can roll over, but most of the time he chooses not to. Here he's gotten a little tired I think.

Tired of rolling over practice

Last weekend, Jeni went to Milwaukee to visit her friend Monica and her son Thomas (who unfortunately does not have a website). Jeni needs to learn that when taking pictures of her son with other children, make sure you can see Mason's face!

Mason and Thomas just chillin', chillin'

Mason and Jeni

Mason and Jeni have been quite cute together (as always), but I sometimes forget that when this happens I need to take pictures.

Here they are at Dogtoberfest at Captial Brewery. (Yes, Mason has been to a brewery twice before his 5-month birthday. What of it?)

Here they are a few days later at the Henry Vilas Zoo.

A walk at the zoo shouldn't be so sad

Mason is doing great!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. We've been busy lately, flitting hither and yon instead of making regular updates to this blog.

Pictures (and movies) to come soon!
