Three-month portraits

Mason turned 3 months old earlier this month, so we decided to dress him up and take some portraits of our fine young man.

3 month old portrait

Mason and Hogarth

Mason is so darned cute that we didn't know when to stop. When we tried to take some pictures of him on his tummy in front of some flowers, Mason let us know in his subtle way that we were done.

The indignities we suffer

Mason has been the subject of much of his mother's photography of late. She seems to enjoy taking pictures of his "tuckus".

Here he is during some naked tummy time.

And here he is a bit more clothed, but forced to wear a robe with dog ears on the hood.

Finally, here Mason is taking a bit of a bath. He actually seemed to enjoy this. He puts up with a lot from his parents.

Mason's first camping trip

We all drove up to Washington Island to camp last weekend. We were a bit nervous about bringing Mason, but the weather report looked great and we were staying in Hank and Sandy's trailer, so we thought we'd give it a try.

To get to the island, you can drive your car onto a ferry at the tip of Door County, so Mason also had his first boat ride. I held him facing the wind for a bit, and I don't know if I would say that he liked it. I would say that I think he thought it was new and different and a bit confusing.

This is weird

Jeni helped him feel better.

Tim, Amy, CJ, and Joey also camped out. This picture is as close as we got to a group shot.

Almost the whole group

It was hard to get Joey and CJ to stop and pose for a picture at the same place at the same time. Try to imagine them in the above picture.

JOEY!

It was a bit chilly at night, so Mason got to use his Pooh winter sack outfit thing. It was great for him. He slept until 8 a.m. one morning!

We spent a lot of time at the beach (why didn't we take any pictures there?), but still found some time to relax.

Uncle Chris and the State Fair

Mason's Uncle Chris visited from New Jersey (finally) and we went to the Wisconsin State Fair with Tom and Hollie. A good time was had by all.

First, Mason and Chris got to know each other.

We had a bit of time to sit and people watch. (By the way, I really think Mason is going to grow up to be a mobster. Just look at him in this picture!)

Tom and Hollie finally showed up (just a bit late), but Mason didn't hold any grudges....

...Until he had to wait in line for cream puffs even though he couldn't have any. And to top it off, Jeni taunted him by putting some cream on his nose.

Finally, we hung the quilt

Mason's great aunt Barb has a talent for making amazing quilts. She has made them for a lot of the new members of the family and Mason was no exception. We finally put up a curtain rod to hang Mason's quilt over his crib.

Us guys

3 wild and crazy guys

Poor Jeni has three guys to handle now.

That's a spicy meatball!

Part Italian on both sides of the family

Mason's grandmas are both part Italian, so hanging out with his shirt unbuttoned on a hot day is in the genes.

Our happy guy

Mornings are happy time

Mason is usually happiest in the mornings. Here he's in his bouncy chair in the kitchen.

Today though he kept himself entertained in his crib from 5am to 6:30am. Who knew the ceiling was so interesting?
