A visit from Corey and Joey

Mason's cousins, Corey and Joey, visited a few weeks ago. They had a good time, I think. We of course tried to get a picture of the three of them.

Here we stuck Mason and Joe to the wall and had Corey stand behind them. Unfortunately, Mason was looking at the ceiling.

Sillyness, cont.

This one turned out pretty well. You can even see Corey practicing his flamenco moves.

Sillyness, inevitably

Right before this picture was taken, all three boys were smiling nicely at the camera. But then somebody said the magic word, and they all screamed real loud.

When I say the magic word, scream real loud!

Corey and Joey spent the night, and before going to bed there were hugs all around.

A hug that got out of control

Halloween!

Mason had quite a busy little Halloween.

He went as a bicyclist, complete with sponsors. He was very serious as he got ready for the big race.

I went to work as a bicyclist as well. I think my students enjoyed it.

Jeni and Mason went to a costume party, so Jeni put on some bike gear as well.

Here's Mason from the back.

Mason is ready to ride

On Halloween night, Mason went trick-or-treating with his friend Leo the Dragon. They didn't quite know what to do at the first house, but our next door neighbor treated them anyway.

They insisted on riding in the wagon from house to house...

But once there, they ran right up to the door and Leo rang the doorbell (if he could reach it).

Trick or Treat!

They were both pretty excited to get treats in their bags, though we don't think they really knew what they were getting.

Where's the next house?

We went around the block and stopped at probably 10-15 houses. Not a bad night!

Swimming lessons

Mason and I have been going to the pool for "Jumbo Shrimp" lessons this month. Jeni came this past Tuesday to take some pictures.

Before we went Mason read his new dog book. He really likes the page that shows the dogs peeing and pooping.

When we get to the pool, Mason has to test the waters for a bit first. He also likes to watch the other kids.

Testing the waters

If enough other kids look like they are having fun on it, Mason will try the slide.

Trying the slide

Once he gets acclimated (and has a ball to play with) Mason has a great time in the water.

All is not so fun though. Sometimes I take Mason someplace he really doesn't want to be, like under this fountain.

Leo's Birthday

Mason's friend Leo celebrated his 2nd birthday Saturday at the Orchard. Leo and Mason mostly just wanted to play on the tractor. Leo got to drive because it was his party.

Mason helped out by shifting.

It doesn't seem like it has been almost a month since our last update, but I guess Blogger wouldn't lie.

We have been posting pictures on our Flickr site, though, so click on this link or the badge to the right.

This picture is from a trip to the city forest preserve.
