I AM IRONMAN!!!!
Sunday was the annual Ironman Wisconsin. This year our friend (and Jeni's maid of honor) Katherine's husband, Chris, was competing. This was great for many reasons: we got to see Katherine, I got to meet Chris, and we saw some great athletes.
Unfortunately, Madison has had rain for the last several days which put a damper on the day. Still, Chris overcame the weather and a flat tire on the bike portion to finish in under 12 hours (the pro who came in first finished in 9 hours).
Enjoy the pictures...
Jeni and Katherine waiting in the rain at mile 54 of the bike portion.
Mason got to wear his red hooded sweatshirt.
Chris and Katherine are from Barrie, Ontario, Canada.
Mason helped us plan where to see Chris on the route around Madison.
The run came right down State Street. This was an opportunity for Katherine to give Chris a dry sweatshirt to run in.
Chris finished around 7:00 pm. Because of the weather, it was already dark and Mason was at home trying to fall asleep.
So, yeah, maybe, uh, next year, I'll, uh, sign up...

Mason's four month check-up
It's hard to believe, but Mason had his four month check-up today. He's doing great (excluding a bit of barfing yesterday). His latest stats: height - 25.5 in, weight - 16 lbs, 12oz., head circumference- 17.5 in.
That last number puts Mason above the 95th percentile for head size. Like father, like son I guess. One day I'll have to sit him down to have "the talk" about how one-size-fits-all hats don't apply to us.
Just to keep this post from getting boring, here's a bonus picture of Mason waking Jeni up the other morning.

Meet the Murrays
We drove down to I-80 Monday to meet up with some friends of ours. Liz and Casey are moving across country with their daughter Ainsley, so we took the chance to briefly visit in a Starbuck's in a grocery store.
Here is Mason with Liz and Casey.
Here, Mason and Ainsley finally meet. (She was catching up on her sleep for the first part of our visit).

Brookfield Zoo
Mason took his first trip to the zoo last Sunday. He liked being outside and may have even looked at an animal or two. He did get into the fish in the South American aquarium. He would have watched the fish swim back and forth for hours.
Here he is with his Grandpa Tom and some giraffes.
And here we are at the baboon island.
